The International Map Collectors' Society - IMCoS - is for people who love maps. There's no other qualification for membership. We're a not for profit organisation, based in London, serving an expanding list of around 750 members from all over the world. Maps are among the fastest growing international collectibles. They are rising in value, and each one tells a story. IMCoS is the world's leading map society, recognised everywhere for its unique contribution to map collecting and collectors. Today around 70% of our members are from outside the UK. The extensive network of International Representatives is a major plus. These people, all keen collectors, serve as friendly contacts for members travelling abroad, providing information on dealers, collectors, museums and libraries in their own areas.
IMCoS also encourages the study of cartographic history. Members include collectors, dealers, librarians, academics and just plain dabblers. We don't all have a Blaeu or an Ortelius map, but while we have our share of experts and specialists, the great majority of us belong to IMCoS simply because we like maps, want learn more about them, and enjoy talking to enthusiasts with a similar interest.
